The Di Giovanna family has been cultivating organic vineyards for five generations in western Sicily, just outside the town of Sambuca di Sicilia. Brothers Gunther & Klaus manage the family’s 56 hectare estate and winery where their hand crafted wines are made and bottled. Their wines are made exclusively with their estate fruit and all of their vineyards are certified organic by Suolo e Salute SRL.

Wine Description:
This velvety Rosato is made from the native Sicilian Nero d’Avola grape known for it’s soft and supple character and juicy fruit. The Fiuminello Nero d’ Avola gives a bright and fresh expression of the grape.

The grapes come from the high altitude, rocky soil vineyards
of Fiuminello, below the mountains and above the Di Giovanna winery. The grapes were hand picked, maceration on the skins for 12 hours, temperature controlled. Fermentation in stainless steel tank on the fine lees for 3 months, fined and filtered before bottling.

The Rosato di Nero d‘ Avola is deep fuchsia. This leads to a round and supple mouthfeel with citrus and minerality. The wine is pleasant and very drinkable!

Food Suggestions:
This wine is a perfect match for salads, light fare and BBQ. Enjoy on it’s own. Or try with sushi, asian foods or grilled chicken.
