Wine Description:
Helios, the Greek god of sun, is named after father Aurelio Di Giovanna who pioneered the planting of Chardonnay at some of the highest altitudes in Sicily in the late 1980’s at the Fiuminello vineyard of Monte Genuardo. Helios Bianco is a small production wine, a selection of Di Giovanna’s best fruit from the vintage. This unique blend is the pure expression of Sicily’s light and terroir.

The Chardonnay grapes come from the Fiuminello vineyard, inside the protected nature reserve of Monte Genuardo at 830 meters above sea level, just below the moutains. The Grillo from the gentle slopes of the Paradiso vineyard in the zone of Contessa Entellina. The grapes are hand picked during cool morning or evening temperatures, destemmed
and pressed overnight. Fermentation of the ‘primo fiore’ in stainless steel tank and 2 french barriques for the Grillo. Aged on the fine lees for 9 months in stainless steel tank. The wine is cold stabilization and fined with bentonite.
